It’s been 6 months since I last posted podcast here.

I’m a funeral business consultant, a researcher of Reform of Death and I prepare the End of Life Journey.

A brief introduction of myself.

I used to be a funeral parlor owner and a funeral director.
I regard myself as an ex-funeral director but once you are a funeral director, you’ll always be a funeral director for the rest of your life, whether you like it or not.

I’m also an ex-engineer.
I used to design and develop laser printers and copiers for a Japanese manufacturing company and also used to be a tech support for an USA based firm in LA designing laser printer controllers.

Now, I consult in many areas.
One, is without saying, undertaker business.
My podcasts are about the Japanese funeral business.

Podcast in English 20201120

I’ve registered a virtual office in Tokyo.
The same building as the Foreign Press Club (FCCJ) in Marunouchi at ServCorp.
Next year, I’ll be upgrading to a real office there and moving out of Ueno (Okachimachi) since I’m having many network speed problem.

I have exchanged my WiFi router from Apple to tp-link mesh router and it’s excellent. Much easier to set up and extremely fast.
Although, there was a one big problem of this router is that it keeps telling me to update, where I have already done 5 times but now it’s gone.

Then, there is the ENDEX 2020 next week.

Yes, I had a sip and no, I did NOT buy it. (Laugh).
It was more expensive the ones I buy regularly at Chigasaki.

I came across the phrase “micro love” this morning on LinkedIn.
A man who I respect that spoke at NFDA 2020 Expo, Mr. Simon Sinek, introduced a post from a Harvard professor, who seems to be a “Dead Head”, riding a train, high on cocaine (just joking).

コロナウィルスと葬儀業界

2ヶ月ぶりにこちらでポッドキャストをアップロードいたします。
3月2日から jfuneral.com を中心に毎日終活、相続、遺言の内容をアップしていましたが、今日、はじめてそこにアップできませんでした。
理由は、単純にRodeCaster Proのミキサーが御徒町にあるからです。
通常、湘南にいる日は予め収録をしているのですが・・・

あれ？今日のデータがない！（笑）

今日は、この一ヶ月大騒ぎになっているコロナウィルスで葬祭業への影響をお話いたします。
昨夜、日本外国特派員協会に所属するAsia Timesの記者を通じて、電話で取材を受けました。もちろん取材は英語です。
内容といたしましては、単なる葬祭業でコロナの影響はどうかでした。

一番怖いのはすでに感染していながら、事故とかで亡くなった場合は検査をしません。
病院で亡くなったら、肺炎の場合はほぼ100%検査するでしょう。
上野の某総合病院はやっていなかったのかも・・・
私が借りているマンションから徒歩圏内なんです。

互助会に変わるものは？

今まで以上に葬儀業界が過度期を迎えています。
葬儀の支払いはPayPayでも出来ます。
実はPayPayが上限を一気に下げたのですが、葬儀にだけ大して下がらなかったんです。
つまり、ソフトバンクは葬儀にそれだけおカネが必要だというのを理解しているからです。

さて、互助会と言うのは何かと言えば、簡単に役務を分割払いする手段です。
普通はモノを割賦販売にて購入した場合、支払いを分割しますが、葬儀も可能なのです。
冠婚葬祭だけが割賦販売法で許されている「役務を分割で前払い」する方法があります。
その許可（当時は通産省で現在は経産省）を得ている会社が「冠婚葬祭互助会」です。

互助会に変わるものは昔から出てきています。

今回は日本外国特派員協会のスタジオから録音をお届けしております。
