昨日から東京ビッグサイトで開催しているワイヤレス・エクスポに初日に行ってきた。
ドコモがARを使った展示をしていた。
冷めた目で見たら、通信量を増やして通信料を稼ごうと言う基幹パンクさせるシステムじゃん！まぁ、これはドコモの課題だ。
ソフトを提供するのに、独自システムを作り出してる。企業としては必要不可欠だが、ユーザーメリットは無いに等しい。ケータイや機材の書き直し、オープンでないので一度利用すると他のキャリアへ移れないとかがある。
これは囲い込みだから仕方がないけど。
気になったのはアクセサリーを展示している会社がみんなiPhone準拠。スマホの世界では台数だけを見たらAndroidが多いが、形や大きさがバラバラなのでメーカーとしては短期ビジネスには投資出来ないのでiPhoneのみに専念している様にしか見えない。
それにしても思ったほど盛り上がってなかった。写真は後で載せる。

Media or not, there are many things that influence one’s life.
Friends, family, TV, radio, internet, and more.
Today, I came across a show on the TV on NHK (the national broadcast of Japan), a show called “Super Presentation” which was hosted by the Director of MIT Media Lab Mr. Joi Ito.
Finding out that Mr. Ito is the same age as me, born 1966, and MIT Media Lab established in 1985, the same year I graduated from BU ENG, made a big shock on me.
Why? I came across a missing value loss in my life.
The other day, I argued with my wife about my lost 10 years or was it a gained 10 years. It’s only a point of view. Who’s loss and who’s gain or perhaps, both in my life.

kernel recompile失敗
久しぶりにLinuxのカーネルのリコンパイルをした。
2.6.34系から.35系にアップグレードをしようと思った。
すると大きな問題にぶち当たった。
kernel configuration fileに互換性がない！
まぁ、うすうすは感じていたので、安全対策を整ってから行った。
Decided to recompile the kernel of my linux server.
I have to admit, it’s been a while and I was suspecting that there were going to be trouble, lot of trouble, when upgrading from 2.6.34.x to 2.6.35.x series.
First of all, the configuration files weren’t compatible with each other.
But having to suspect this, I took my precautions. Start of the battle.

月曜日にBicカメラ藤沢店でWiMAXを２台ゲットしてしまった。
On Monday, I decided to purchase 2 WiMAX WiFi routers at the local shop.
１台につき１万円の製品の割引まで貰った。
I received a 10,000 yen discount on the purchase of PC equipment as well.
更に１台につき千円の商品券までも！
I also received a gift certificate of 2000 yen for the purchase of 2 routers.
まぁ、本来なら２万円の割引だが２台のパソコンか何かを買わねばならなかったが、取り敢えず必要だったのはApple Time Capsuleだったのでこれを１万円引きして買えた。
Bought Apple’s Time Capsule router with 2TB HDD for my son and wife’s backup with a 10,000 yen discount. 🙂
