昨日、うちのポストに大明さんが近所で光ファイバー入れ替えの工事をするとチラシが入っていた。工事位置は明確になっていた。道路も通行止めになることも、そして場所によっては回線が50分くらい落ちるのも。しかし、どのエリアで落ちるかが明記されていなかった。

今朝9時半過ぎに突然回線が切れた！
どうもISP（うちではソニーの業務用のBit-Drive社–ちょっと高いけど他より安いし、技術力は抜群で信頼ある）の集約ルータが落ちたみたいではないので、すぐに113のNTT故障受付に電話した。
光ファイバーのONUを見たらFXのLEDは消えている。TXは点灯している。
あちゃ〜〜〜〜〜〜！

さて、表で大明が工事しているのを思い出して、まさか、切ったのでは？！と思って確認したら案の定。ブチ切れた。

何しろ点線で囲ってある位置からかけ離れているところだったからだ。
広域マップではうちが入っている。NTTはさじを投げて大明の責任に。まぁ、仕方がないことだが、管理責任はNTTにある。

さて、問題は１時間、切られたが、途中で配線をもとに戻すと言うことを工事担当者が言い出した。そして後日また工事しに来ますだって。バカか？！

そのまま工事を続けて一発で直せ！その後に処遇を考えると。
最近の大明のやる工事は質が落ちている。

ちなみに、近所もガス管工事で通行止めの通知も入っていて、更にJCOMも工事で通行止めになるのと電話含む回線が断続的に切れるって。

大丈夫なのか、日本のインフラ？

This morning, the fiber optics line got cut off. There was a flyer in the post yesterday that line will be cut off sometime today. That’s OK if you’re ready and prepared for it. The construction was under a dotted line but my office wasn’t in it although the wide area map showed my office vicinity.
The problem was that the flyer did NOT specify which area was affected  by the change of fiber optics and I was furious due to an hour of cut off, since my work relies very much on the internet.

The problem here shows that the infrastructures in Japan are very old and need many replacements. Replacements of hard lines are very costly and time consuming and effects many people. But what if it were RF lines such as the cell phone. This effects even wider range since there are unseeable number of people hanging on to the radio frequencies.

What can we do to sustain. Telephone, gas, electricity are all lifelines that effect our lives very much. We all know that the problem we faced with the NPP fallout and to TEPCO has decided to shutdown (as a gesture) the power to scare people.
These acts should not be accepted but the government of Japan is too inept and uneducated since the politicians are uneducated in many areas where they should be.

Would Japan survive the next 10 years? May be not.
Now, where are we off to?
