+1-844-XXX-XXXXの電話番号はすべて米国発信の詐欺電話です。
日本の取り締まりから抜けるためにでしょうね。
って調べてみましたら去年の4月からこんなことが：

特殊詐欺に利用されるケースが多かった050から始まるIP電話番号は、携帯電話不正利用防止法の改正で2024年4月から契約時の本人確認義務が必須となり、犯行における利用が減少傾向に。代わって国際電話番号を用いた詐欺電話が主流となっている。
電話がかかってきたので聞いてみましたw
「こちらはソフトバンクです。お客様の電話は料金未払のため2時間後に停止いたします。お問い合わせに関して「1」を押してください。」
まぁ、こんな感じの内容でしたwwww
あと、私にかかってきた電話はSBMではないので。
知らなければ「1」を押して、色々と引っかかるだろうけど、そこまで暇ではなかったので「はい、はい」って切りました。

次回はケータイ電話の通話録音できる装置かアプリを入れて起きますわ。
ちなみに「ソフトバンクモバイルです」って言わなかったなw
それと 844 は北米のフリーダイヤル番号です。
簡単に申し込みができて利用することが可能。
よく「ロボコール」にも使われます。

つまり無料や非常に安く構築できるらしい。
キャリアプロバイダはVerizonなどがあるらしいが、Skypeとかでも活用できる！
